Ever since the announcement that James Gunn is helming the sequel/soft reboot to 2016’s Suicide Squad, fans have been excited. Up until now there’s little we know about the movie except for what has been leaked. However, all of that has changed thanks to DC Fandome.
James Gunn says he has been reading Suicide Squad since its very issue by John Ostrander. He was also excited to write for Harley Quinn the most.
While promoting the new movie, James Gunn released unseen footage for the movie. Take a look at it below:
Thanks to the above, we now know who everyone is going to play. Seeing Margot Robbie getting to don the classic red and black is exciting. Especially since she looks ripped out of the pages of Injustice. Peter Capaldi as The Thinker is going to be a blast!
There is just so much to unpack in the above video. However, James Gunn has also dropped a look behind the scenes. It looks like The Suicide Squad is going to be unforgiven and explosive.
For anyone who knows the SS, they won’t be clinging on to seeing every actor for more than five minutes. There’s a high chance some of these names are there to fulfill the quota of villains who die to show the high stakes mission the mean team will go on.
This is not just another sequel, or a reboot for that matter. SS is something else all together, and from the footage in the clip above, it looks wonderful.
Remember, as the clip says, you may not want to get too attached to any one character in the movie. The only really safe one’s probably Harley Quinn.
The Suicide Squad hits theaters August 6, 2021 worldwide.
