‘Justice League: Snyder Cut’ – New Trailer and Reveals

Zack Snyder's Justice League, Warner Bros Pictures

The Zack Snyder cut of Justice League has been one of the internet’s most infamous conspiracy theories. Fans have clamored for a director’s cut ever since the 2017 theatrical release left a sour taste in people’s mouth.

Warner Bros. brought Joss Whedon on-board to finish the film in post-production after Snyder had to step away. The disjointed tones of the two filmmakers’ visions, combined with heavy studio interference, created a Frankenstein’s Monster of a movie that was the worst of both worlds.

However, the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement peaked in May with the announcement of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, coming 2021 to HBO Max.

With DC’s FanDome event taking place, fans have been desperate to get more footage or news about the film.

Well, we’ve now had the full panel, with plenty of tidbits and finally a full trailer. Let’s breakdown what we got to see.

Panel Reveals

The panel kicked off with a Q&A of sorts between Zack Snyder and some familiar, and new, faces. The main cast of Justice League took turns asking Snyder questions about what we might expect in the new cut.

Perhaps the most interesting reveal was the knowledge of just how the film will be presented to us. Snyder confirmed that his Justice League cut will stream in four hour long “episodes”.

What was more interesting however was the news that after the initial release, fans will be able to view the entire four hour presentation in one sitting.

Snyder also spoke about international distribution, confirming that the Snyder Cut will be released oversees, but not through HBO Max.

Whether that will be through another streaming service like Netflix or even a theatrical release remains to be seen. Regardless, Justice League will be available outside of the US.

Brand New Trailer

A new trailer dropped, with a mixture of new footage and old. We see Victor Stone pre-Cyborg, and more shots of Barry Allen, including the deleted scene of him saving Iris West. Snyder even hinted that we might see the Flash time travel in the movie.

The most interesting part of the trailer comes right at the top. We finally get a good look at the big bad of the DC Universe; Darkseid. Snyder confirmed before that the New God would be making an appearance, so it’s nice to see him in all his glory.

While Darkseid isn’t the main villian of the Snyder Cut, it will be nice to see such an iconic character finally appear on screen.

Fans of Snyder’s movies may rest easy; his Justice League cut looks very much like his magnum opus.
