‘Fantastic Beasts’ Becomes a BBC Special

The BBC will produce a new special, Fantastic Beasts: A Natural History. The Special series will explore the origins and stories of the magical creatures who live in the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

The series will work with London’s Natural History Museum on the special and a new exhibit Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature, which will explore the creatures in the Harry Potter universe and their connections with creatures in ours.

BBC’s Natural History Unit and Warner Brothers Entertainment U.K. will both serve as producers on the series. The series uses footage from the films and the BBC’s Natural History Museum to show how the magical creatures are tied closely to real world animals .

Steven Fry will host the special.
