Dear Netflix, we have waited long enough. The fans asked, and Netflix delivers! The first trailer for the streaming service’s big Marvel team-up The Defenders is here. The official trailer looks great, and gives a few plot hints as to how the team comes together. Check out the trailer below:

The series looks exciting, and will test the limits of the team, as Sigourney Weaver’s ‘Alexandria’ will look to fuel much of the chaos in the show. With the help of the Hand, and what appears to be a resurrected Elektra, Matt Murdock and the rest of The Defenders have their work cut out for them.
The series will span eight episodes, with Marco Ramirez serving as show runner and executive producer with Drew Goddard.
“Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.”
The Defenders will debut on Netflix on Friday August 18.
