Could Batman Finally Show Up in the Next Season of ‘Gotham’?

Gotham, FOX

It is a tease that has loomed over Gotham for three seasons. You can only dance around the topic for so long, before you have to address why Batman isn’t in a show about Batman. Well, patient fans watched the villains start from humble beginnings to almost becoming what they are in the comics, and now it appears that it is Batman’s turn. David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) promises that the Caped Crusader is finally on his way.

In an interview with Comicbook, Mazouz says that the next season of Gotham will finally bring Batman back to the small screen:

“Bruce really is taking on this vigilante persona and all the things that go along with that. Whether it be creating another persona, a public persona, that’s also definitely going to be a major part of Bruce’s journey this year. His relationship as this other person. Batman is coming. Absolutely.”

Mazouz says that he was afraid that the writers would pull back, trying to delay the inevitable:

“Another thing I was worried about was we were going to get to Season 4 and the writers were going to go, ‘You know, I think we took it a little too far too fast. Let’s backtrack.’ And the exact opposite happened. The trajectory is just continuing in that direction. I would say, I would know it’s accelerating in that direction. It’s not going to stop.”

Mazouz says the show is also bringing back a villain that was teased in the first season, Jonathon Crane a.k.a. The Scarecrow. In the first season we saw a young Crane get injected with an overdose of the fear inhibiting serum. This left him in a state of constant terror:

“Scarecrow comes back in season four. It’s on full blast, I’m really excited.”

One of Mazouz’s co-stars added in that in S4 the Scarecrow is “super creepy.”
