After the harsh criticisms Microsoft and 343 Industries received in the wake of Halo 5: Guardians and a horribly done Halo: Master Chief Collection. Halo 5’s biggest flaws were the weak villain and lack of the series’ star, Master Chief. It appears as though the studio is stepping back and changing gears a bit. Although Halo was the original flagship franchise for Microsoft and the Xbox, it appears that the studio expected it to steer itself. Now they are busy trying to fix the major issues of the past. When will we see Halo 6 news?
Jeff Easterling has issued a statement to the Halo community on the Halo Waypoint website that says that fans expecting news on the status of the game this year will be disappointed. There will be no news about Halo 6, any of the remakes, or remasters for the remainder of the year. This statement refers to convention announcements as well:
“…others were hoping for a tease of things farther off to come. While there’s little to nothing that can be said on that front, it’s been made clear that we won’t be talking about Halo’s next major title for quite some time. And no, that doesn’t mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we’re ready to begin pulling back that proverbial curtain, you’ll know. It won’t be soon.”
Halo: Guardians hit store shelves in October 2015. If 343 Industries is trying to stick to the normal Halo release schedule, then we should get a game next Fall. With Microsoft and 343 Industries going silent, the schedule may see a setback.
Halo 5: Guardians takes place in the year 2558, and is set eight months after the events of Halo 4. The game follows the human fireteams Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris. … Cortana (Jen Taylor), John’s former AI companion who was presumed dead after the events of Halo 4, also returns.
