‘Hellboy’ Reboot Brings Hefty Amounts of Blood

Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen will not candy-coat the violence in the newest reboot featuring David Harbour. The comics are famous for being a new level of brutal, and the film will follow suit.

In a recent interview with Empire, David Harbour confirms that his Hellboy will cut out hearts, chop off heads, and bathes in the blood of his enemies:

There’s really a sense that you’re actually killing things, even if they are giants or monsters. You’re chopping their heads off, you’re bathing in their blood and you’re feeling the complex feelings of actually cutting the heart out of another thing.

Is there anything more a Hellboy fan could ask for? The new film will up-the-ante from the previous films by Guillermo del Toro. Del Toro’s movies were great and did their best to create a unique world that was very Guillermo.

The new film will have to not only stand out from its predecessors, it will have to define the direction of the rebooted franchise. This is a small detail that paints a picture of a very different Hellboy movie.
