‘The Witcher’: New Faces Coming In Season 2

Warning: There are spoilers for The Witcher Netflix series, game series and book series. Read at your own risk.

The Witcher dropped on Netflix in December 2019. It’s a fantasy series based on the books by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. It follows a mutated human who fights various monsters for money. The first season was mostly acclaimed by critics and fans so it wasn’t a surprise when Netflix commissioned a second season.

Unfortunately for those eager for more, season two probably won’t be with us until some point in 2021. In the meantime, that thirst can be quenched with the books and the video games. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is the most recent video game and is available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Henry Cavill returns as the titular Witcher Geralt of Rivia. He’s joined by Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Cirilla Riannon and Joey Batey as Jaskier the Bard. With an already impressive cast list, there are no signs of slowing down as Netflix announces the actors joining season two.

For season two, audiences can expect to see more Witchers, Sorceresses, and Elves. There’s even a familiar face in the guise of an actor from another fantasy series, Game of Thrones. For those wondering too, yes, Vesmir has been cast and to find out who’s playing him, check out the next page.
