Jared Leto Wants The Joker to Fight DC’s Golden Boy, Superman

With Suicide Squad finally hitting theaters this past weekend, Jared Leto has been talking the movie up a bit. We have told you that he was really unhappy about all the Joker scenes that were cut from the theatrical cut of the film, but Jared Leto remains hopeful that he will play the Clown Prince on the big screen again. Leto said that he would like for DC to have a stand-alone Joker movie, that would give Mr. J the screen time he deserves. Better than that, Leto wants the Joker to face-off against the Man of Steel.

That’s right, Jared Leto wants Joker to go toe-to-toe again Superman. In an interview with IGN, Leto says that it would be fun for Joker to fight Superman, because they are so different:

Superman seems like a lot of fun though for the Joker. The Joker and Superman would be interesting to see onscreen because Superman’s so stoic and morally centred. I think that the Joker would really enjoy that. Superman is just the classic hero and the Joker opposite any her [sic] would be really interesting.

The Joker and Superman have met each other before, in comics and in some of the animated films that DC has in their library. This dynamic would be an interesting idea to entertain. But when you break down how this could be possible, you quickly loose interest in it all together. Superman is too overpowered for the Clown Prince. The Joker is a human, and facing-off against Krypton’s favorite son would be a very bad idea. The script would have to be top-notch to pull it all off, and you can imagine that Lex Luthor would have to have a small role to play in the plot.

Suicide Squad is looking to top the box office for a second week in a row this weekend.

Should the Joker/Superman fight be something we ever see on the big screen?
