Kevin Smith Says the SnyderCut Does Exist

Warner Brother executives continue to get bombarded and harassed by fans wanting the studio to release the SnyderCut of Justice League. Warner Bros. is silent on whether the cut exists, but director Kevin Smith says it does.

The SnyderCut of Justice League is the cut of the film by Zack Snyder before the director left the film for personal reasons.

Since the film’s dismal release in theaters, fans want to see the earlier cut of the film, citing that Joss Whedon’s reshoots and direction made the film worse.

There’s an active debate on whether or not the cut exists, and fanboy director Kevin Smith puts in his findings. According to the ReelBlend podcast, Smith says the SnyderCut exists, but its not what fans think it is:

“I’ve not seen it firsthand. I’ve spoken now to enough people at various levels in that production. There IS a Snyder cut. For sure. That’s not a mythical beast. It exists.

Now, it’s not a finished movie by any stretch of the imagination. There were things that went away from the story that they shot that didn’t wind up going into (visual) effects or anything like that.

So I would assume, based on what I’ve been told, that large sections of that Snyder Cut are, you know, pre-viz (with) a lot of green screen. We’re not talking a finished movie…the one I’ve heard everyone speak of was never a finished film.

It was a movie that people in production could watch and fill in the blanks. It was certainly not meant for mass consumption.”

Now, this is a statement that should excite every DC fan. This is great news right? Not so fast. Smith’s right, the film would need a ton of work before it can be watched.

Warner has their reasons for not releasing the film. If you ask me, I think Snyder’s cut of the film was atrocious and unwatchable. There really is no other reason for the studio to green light reshoots.

You can see both directors visions clashing on-screen when you view Justice League. Snyder is pushing for the SnyderCut to be released by the studio via social media. Lately, he’s released concept art and photos on his Vero account.
