#9 Alien (1979)

“In space, no one can hear you scream.” This is probably one of the best log lines in film. Alien is a horror film that is practically flawless, and get you wrapped up completely in the suspense of the film. Director Ridley Scott used a number of techniques to  bring chills to your bones. his pacing and editing created an atmosphere that allowed you to feel the dread and the fear of the unknown. These were the same feelings that Ridley and her crew felt. The realism in the aliens were great, and the entire set design coming from the mind of H.R. Tiger doesn’t hurt either.

Next #8 The Thing
