Sarsgaard Keen On Finishing ‘The Batman’ Shoot

Peter Sarsgaard plays Gotham City District Attorney Gil Colson in Matt Reeves’ The Batman…or does he? Rumors speculate that Sarsgaard’s actually portraying Harvey Dent. So, is her or isn’t he?

Either way, Sarsgaard can’t wait to finish shooting his scenes.

This week, in an interview with THR, Sarsgaard talks about getting back to his top secret role after production was shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic:

“I’m about 80 percent done with my part, so I would just like to do the last 20 percent. I’m just hoping that we can get back soon, and I can get back into it.

It’s just something I want to get back to and finish. On these big movies, this goes on for months and months. There’s hundreds of people on set at any given time.

It’s just so hard to understand how we do it, and so, I just want to get back to do it.”

If you still have reservations about Robert Pattinson’s Batman, Sarsgaard has a bit of reassurance for you:

“He looks amazing. I have to say, he really, really does. The work he was doing was really cool. I really dug his Batman, and I can’t wait to see it [on-screen].

I think he’s a very interesting actor. I’ve liked him in a number of things. I loved him in the Safdie brothers movie [Good Time] that he did. He was so good in that movie.

And I actually really liked this one he just did. It’s crazy, to me, the comedy movie he just did with Willem Dafoe. The Lighthouse. It’s so strange and awesome.

He’s just an interesting, interesting actor.”

As with any high-profile film, none of the actors will speak poorly of the film or it’s lead before the film drops and paychecks hit the mail. His statements about Pattinson are intriguing.

I do believe the Harry Potter-alumni will surprise people when he dons the cape and cowl.

The Batman resumes production in the near future, and still aims for an October 2021 theatrical release.
