Ant-Man and the Wasp are beginning to leak out. Director Peyton Reed spoke about the repercussions that Scott Lang will face in the wake of the events of Captain America: Civil War. Although Ant-Man will gain a partner in the sequel, the return of a classic heroine might shake the tree up a bit.

In a short interview with Empire via Comic Book Movie, director Peyton Reed spoke about how the events of Captain America: Civil War will strain Lang and Hank Pym’s relationship, and cause strife for the newest Avenger. Reed also hints at the return of Giant-Man:

The events of Captain America: Civil War gave us something clear, which is: what was Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne’s reaction to Scott having taken this technology out into the world in Civil War? We had a lot of fun playing around with that. And we play with size and scale a lot. I love the idea of Giant-Man.

Reed also goes on to talk about the return of Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp, and how all is not well in the Pym household with her return:

It’s fair to say if someone were to have spent 30-something years in the Quantum Realm and survived, it would have an effect. What did she eat? All she eats is cereal called Quantum Krispies.

Dyne’s return was only rumor, but after Reed’s statement, it appears that she will definitely come back from the Quantum Realm. It is understandable to see how her return after 30 years would cause a bit of strain in her and Hank Pym’s relationship. It appears that the Quantum Realm will play a large part in the sequel, and in the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.
