San Diego Comic-Con attendees are in for a special treat this year. They will be the first to view the Sith Trooper from Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. The suit is part of an exhibit by Lucasfilm this year.

The exhibit will feature nine different screen-used costumes from the Star Wars franchise. These costumes include death trooper, shoretrooper, biker scout, First Order stormtrooper, First Order TIE pilot, Captain Phasma, Imperial stormtrooper, TIE pilot, and the Sith Trooper.

Some of the Sith Trooper merchandise has been on display and shown off in an official video. Some new Early Release Edition Sith Trooper items will debut at confab.

According to Lucasfilm archivist Madlyn Burkert says:

β€œIt has some really unique aesthetics to it. And it has some subtle ties to previous stormtrooper designs, which I think fans will enjoy discovering.”

The color red in the Star Wars universe is a color usually designated for leadership, and the guards that protect them. With Kylo Ren previously stating its time for the Sith and the Jedi to die, it’s hard to see how they are his troopers.

They might be the troopers for Palpatine. Not only the fact that they are Sith troopers, but they also have the classic Stormtrooper design. This could indicate that Palpatine has a larger role to play in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker than previously thought.

The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
