‘Spider-Man’: Ideas for Insomniac’s Gaming Universe

Spider-Men

While the title needs work, the idea is that this is the sequel to Spider-Man. A sequel is a no brainer. Both Insomniac games are popular with the fans and feature credit scenes leading to an exciting twist of an old enemy.

At the end of Spider-Man we find out the sick Harry Osbourne isn’t abroad. His father, Norman, is working with Dr Curt Connors to cure Harry while keeping him locked in a tank. Inside of that tank is a black substance that looks like a symbiote.

The symbiote is one of Spider-Man’s biggest stories. It also creates one of the character’s biggest villains, who sometimes acts as an uneasy ally. Spider-Man: Miles Morales then shows Norman telling Dr Connors to release Harry from his tank.

From this, we can guess the next game will introduce Harry properly. Furthermore, we’ll see him turn become the first Venom in this universe.

Whether we’ll see Eddie Brock taking up the mantle afterwards is unknown. However, Eddie is in Spider-Man as an Easter Egg so we know he works for the Daily Bugle.

On the other hand, Mary-Jane Watson finds Oscorp technology in a secret room in Spider-Man. The technology in question is everything Norman Osborne needs to become the Green Goblin.

Therefore, it points to the idea we might see him become the villain in the next game.

If so, then the next Spider-Man game could be Peter and Miles against Venom and the Green Goblin as the major villains. There is no telling when the game releases but if it follows the pattern between the original and Miles Morales then it might appear in 2022 at the earliest.

Next – Spider-Man: Venom
