The 2018 ‘Arrowverse Crossover’ Finally Has a Title!

DC Crossover Event Elseworlds, CW Networks

The Arrowverse Crossover finally has a title and it is one that is going to make fans very excited. The first full-on Arrowverse crossover was Invasion! and the next Crisis on Earth-X.

This time the title will be none other than Elseworlds!

To eagle-eyed fans, the title is important in the DC lore. Elseworlds is the heading for stories not set in the regular DC Continuity. Superman: Red Son and Batman: Gotham by Gaslight are two of the most famous Elseworld stories.

Jeremy Davies will portray Dr John Deegan of Arkham Asylum

Not only is there a title for the crossover but two other villains will be coming to the crossover.

The first is Jeremy Davies (Lost, American Gods) who is portraying John Deegan, a Doctor at Arkham Asylum. While John Deegan isn’t a character from the Comics theories suggest there is something far more sinister to him.

The casting notice describes Deegan as “a doctor at Arkham Asylum For the Criminally Insane in Gotham City, but he might just be crazier than the inmates he treats. His machinations will draw Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl to Gotham City.”

LaMonica Garrett will play The Monitor

LaMonica Garrett (Sons of Anarchy, The Last Ship) is also joining the three-part episode as a very important character to the mythos. The Monitor is coming to The CW Arrowverse. Fans will remember The Monitor is vital in one of DC’s greatest stories Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The Monitor or Mar Novu is an extraterrestrial being of infinite power, created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. What role he will play in the crossover is unknown at this time, but it sure is exciting to hear of his casting.

Ruby Rose will debut as Batwoman

Jeremy and LaMonica join Ruby Rose, Elizabeth Tulloch and Cassandra Jean Amell in their Arrowverse debuts. Tyler Hoechlin also returns as Superman for the three-part event.

The Arrowverse crossover will air over three nights, from Sunday, December 9th to Tuesday, December 11th. The event will start with an episode of The Flash.
