‘The Flash’: A Classic Costume Makes a Big Return

The Flash is one of DC’s many movies that has been in development hell for years. It’s gone through various directors and writers, but finally, we’re one step closer to seeing it. Andy Muschetti (IT) is currently in production of the movie, with Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey) writing the script.

Ezra Miller returns as the scarlet speedster, along with Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne. It’s not a surprise Michael Keaton‘s returning too. Yet, fans are wondering what he’ll look like. Will his older Batman be inspired by Kingdom Come? Or will Batman return to a classic costume?

Well, it looks like we have our answer.

Recently, Andy Muschetti uploaded a picture to Instagram showing a familiar yellow and black logo. By the looks of it, Keaton’s Batman will be wearing a version of his suit from the 1989 and 1992 movies directed by Tim Burton.

Being more precise, it seems like the suit will be closer to one from Batman Returns. Given it’s been a long time since we saw the costume, there’s a chance it’ll be different. If this is an older Batman then it only makes sense we’ll see a modified version of the suit.

The Flash takes inspiration from the Flashpoint arc but won’t be a faithful adaptation. Kiersey Clemons returns as Iris West, with her first performance as the character being in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Although, due to schedule conflicts, Ron Livingston is replacing Billy Crudup as Henry Allen.

Furthermore, the Girl of Steel is coming to the big screen with Sasha Calle portraying Supergirl. It’s unclear what she’ll look like. However, a recent image suggests her look might be similar to the Cir-El version of Supergirl from the comics.

The Flash speeds to theatres 4th November 2022.
