With the finality of the MCU as we know it coming fast, what comes next for Marvel? What new characters could fans see, and what new worlds will Marvel introduce us too? Marvel CEO Kevin Feige has stated many times that things will drastically change in the MCU after the events of Avengers 4. A new interview sheds some light on the future of the MCU after Marvel finishes their current slate of films.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin Feige talks about Marvel moving forward after the Avengers double-header. Feige talks about what happens after Avengers 4:
With Infinity War, it’s coming to a climax, coming to a conclusion of seeds with all the MacGuffins in various movies, and with Untitled Avengers a year later, bringing what will be that first 22 movie arc to a finality. That doesn’t mean there are no movies after that. Of course not. It means the movies after that will be changed.
It’s a comic book universe, so eventually characters will be killed off. In the comics, characters die and come back to life many times over. Feige talks about killing characters off in the MCU:
I would just say, yes. People need to be careful what they wish for.
