‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer Ups the Destruction!

X-Men: Apocalypse, 20th Century Fox

Does the world really need the X-Men? This is the big question that the new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse proposes. The new trailer shows off some of the destruction that we will see in the upcoming film, and gives us some great new looks at the heroes and the villains from this upcoming film. Professor Xavier proclaims that he will do whatever it takes to protect this school, but something tells me that he will fall a bit short.

It appears as though Mystique will be taking a leadership role in this film, because the X-Men are up against a god. Unfortunately for us, this is Jennifer Lawrence’s last X-Men movie. It will be sad to see her leave the franchise, but this will open the door for either a new version of the character or the franchise focusing on another mutant. She will need all the help that she can get when facing Apocalypse and the Four Horsemen.

Can I ask where Wolverine is in this film? I know that they have rewritten the continuity of the X-Men universe, it will be strange having a film without him. Especially considering how he has been the main focus of all the films, except X-Men First Class.

This trailer gives us more: more of Apocalypse recruiting his Horsemen, more mutant fights, more abilities, and more destruction. All of you viewers with keen eyes may notice that it seems as though Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters will be getting destroyed in this film. This will pose yet another continuity error though, in X-Men: Days of Future Past we see Wolverine show back up in the future in Xavier’s Mansion. So, is it safe to say that they will rebuild?

This movie looks great, and we can bank on plenty of amazing moments in Apocalypse, and did we forget to mention that Evan Peters (Quicksilver) has already said the hero will have yet another big slow motion sequence in this film.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27th.
