This Saturday, the first ever Justice Con takes place. It’s an event celebrating Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Let that soak in. Of course, Snyder himself will appear at the Con.
In an interview with Beyond the Trailer, Snyder hints that fans will see new footage from the film during the event, even though the film doesn’t hit HBO Max until 2021.
Snyder says:
“I may show a clip. And it is a small clip. It may be a small clip. Also, maybe there’s another tiny little announcement, just a little thing, for the fans. The clip is…that’s gonna be fun.”
How about that for some bait? Snyder also went on to talk about the runtime of the film, debunking earlier rumors that the film runs just over three-and-a-half hours long. According to Snyder, it’s running longer than that:
“I have famously teased the runtime at 214 minutes. Now in its current state, it’s going to end up being longer than that yet.
So, it’s exciting to be bringing all this new material to the fans – they get to see all these crazy and awesome new sequences, and I think that’s going to be really exciting for everyone.”
The director also says that his Justice League cut’s “kind of separate now from the DC cinematic universe continuity. And I think that’s a good thing.”
The bell tolls in 2021 as to whether the Snydercut will live up to all of the hype.
If this new cut of the film’s bad, then there’s really no one to blame but one person. It will almost certainly not though, because between all of the reshoots, extra budget, and time, every flaw should be ironed out of the film by this point.
