Zack Snyder’s Justice League has been a long time coming. Since his departure, in March 2017 it’s been unclear if we’d ever see his vision. The original Justice League is controversial due to its lengthy reshoots, as well as claims from Cyborg actor Ray Fisher of abuse.
During the Man of Steel watch party on May 20, 2020, Zack Snyder hosted a Q&A with fans. It was there Henry Cavill arrived and fans questioned if we would see the Snyder Cut. Snyder confirmed his version of the movie is coming.
So far, we have seen a trailer and behind-the-scenes pictures. However, Warnermedia officially announced the release date today.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is officially coming to HBO Max on March 18, 2021. According to Warnermedia’s press release, the four-hour movie will premiere exclusively on HBO services in Europe.
In Asia, it’ll go to HBO Go. Meanwhile, Latin America won’t see the movie until HBO Max launches later this year.
An official synopsis has been released:
In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions.
The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes.
Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League releases March 18, 2021.
