Justice Con is a convention for all the fans of Zack Snyder’s DCEU, but most importantly it focuses on his Justice League cut. There are several panels from actors and creatives behind the scenes, but the one that gave fans the most was from Zack Snyder himself.
An interesting piece of news coming from him is that his version of Steppenwolf will be the scarier one from the Dawn of Justice deleted scene.
The theatrical cut of Justice League’s Steppenwolf was closer to Ivan Ooze from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. It’ll be great news for the actor behind the character.
Ciaran Hinds isn’t a fan of Joss Whedon’s version of Steppenwolf. During an interview he said“that wasn’t the movie I worked so hard on“. Thankfully for him, he’ll finally be getting to see the version he wants.
We’ll also be finding out at DC Fandome if his Justice League is releasing as a 4 hour movie or a mini-series. Zack believes a series is the better option as it gives viewers a pre-determined break, so it’ll be interesting to see how that goes.
But the big news is something a lot of fans were hoping to see in the original Justice League. For those unaware, Dawn of Justice adapted the plot of Death of Superman while Justice League adapts Reign of the Supermen.
These adaptations are loose but they involve Doomsday and a certain suit.
Take a look at that suit below:
As you can see, Henry Cavill’s Superman will be donning the famous black suit. It looks strange for now as there’s still work to be done on the color-grading on the clip.
According to Zack, he has wanted the black suit from the get-go but it nearly didn’t happen. Originally, the studio told him the movie has to be “light and funny”. As far as they’re aware, a black suit doesn’t equal light and fun.
Why any person would think a black suit automatically makes a movie dark is beyond me.
But Zack had a red and blue suit that is easy to change in post-production. Therefore, he might have even sneaked it in the original version to appease himself and fans.
More information on Zack Snyder’s Justice League is coming August 22 at DC Fandome.
The next DC movie to release will be Wonder Woman 84. However, with everything going, it might not make its current October release. The Batman might resume filming later this year too.
