Maverick is the follow-up to the 1986 classic and takes the franchise into the future. Gone are the days of F-14 Tomcats dogfighting in the skies in theaters of war. The modern fighter must face drones and next-generation fighters.

Maverick returns to Top Gun fighter pilot school, but this time around he’s an instructor. He takes Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of his late partner Goose, under his wing.

The film looks great and touches all of the familiar Top Gun feels a fan can have. Maverick stars Jon Hamm, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, and Ed Harris.
