Facial hair is experiencing a renaissance. For the past decade, beards and mustaches are leaving their mark, and growing a splendid one is something to be proud of. One mustache, in particular, is not getting recognition for being splendid, or amazing. Henry Cavill bid adieu to his controversial facial hair in a rather touching short.
Henry Cavill’s mustache is a great costume piece for his upcoming role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, but is the bane of every DC Comics fan at the moment. It is the sole reason that Justice League reshoots needed addition CGI work, and the results were not good. See the pic below for an example:
Cavill had to sport his mustache during the Justice League reshoots, leaving the studio no choice but to attempt to remove the facial hair with CGI. The results were horrendous. It is a classic example of why it is difficult to CGI delete a mustache. It is also another good example of how shortchanging the CGI budget can seriously damage your film.
Now that Mission: Impossible – Fallout is done shooting, Henry Cavill can rid the world of that troublesome mustache. The British actor took to Twitter with a touching tribute to the memory of his mustache. Take note at how fast the Justice League CGI shot is glazed over. You can see his video in the post below:
Mission: Impossible – Fallout hits theaters on July 27, 2018.
