‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Will Boast More CGI Characters that Guardians of the Galaxy

Avengers: Infinite War and Avengers 4 are set to be the biggest films Marvel has yet to unleash on the world. Both films will encompass the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but they might be bigger than you think. Not only will they include every character that you have seen up until this point, but now Sean Gunn says that there will be even more characters than that.

In an interview with Movie Pilot, Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) says that there will more CGI characters in Infinite War than the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen. Gunn does the motion capture work for Guardians Rocket Racoon said:

“I can tell you that the process for Rocket has been very similar to the Guardians movies. If anything, it’s even more painstaking, because there are even more CGI characters around. In Guardians 2, Baby Groot was there the whole time, but the rest of the time was mostly with other live actors. In Avengers, there are several other characters who are CGI-enhanced that I’ve interacted with, which makes the process a little more deliberate.

This is an interesting quote, because it could mean that Marvel is bring a lot of new characters to this war, or he might just see the body doubles on-set. Scheduling all of the shooting required for a film this massive is a big undertaking. Marvel has used body doubles for heroes in scenes before, so them using doubles on this film would come as no surprise. Not only is a film this size a feat of logistics, Marvel should be applauded at how effortless they are making the shooting seem.

In related news, the Russo brothers posted a photo from the set of Infinity War, and it confirms that Thor will get Mjolnir back by Infinity War. The trailer for Thor: Ragnarok shows Hela shattering the forge weapon, leaving Thor without his prized hammer. It is nice to know that he will not be without it for long.
