6. GEORGE CLOONEY
Clooney remains the worst personification of Batman in the history of the character’s presence on the big screen. It never felt like he was playing Bruce Wayne or Batman. He was just being George Clooney, but identifying as Bruce Wayne and dressing up as Batman.
Anytime he tried to move around in the suit, it looked bad. He looked like he couldn’t pull it off and was just miserable. It’s come to light since the film’s release, that Clooney in fact hated being Batman.
It didn’t help that the film around him was a disaster.
If viewed as a comedy, Batman & Robin is undoubtedly entertaining. The one-liners constantly delivered by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze solidify this idea.
The movie remains the worst Batman film in the history of the character’s presence in cinema and Clooney’s portrayal did his career no favors. Thankfully, Steven Soderbergh’s Out of Sight helped boost the then-known television actor’s transition to a solid film career.
