Dwayne Johnson-led ‘Rampage’ Movie Looks Interestingly Good

Rampage, Midway Games

The adaptation of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s adaptation of the Midway video game Rampage came with a large amount of apprehension. With the release of the trailers, a little light is shed on how Midway plans on bringing the classic arcade game to the big screen.

The results are interesting, and the additions to the story are welcomed, as it adds an interesting bit of story to a game that had very little, if no plot at all.

Check out the first trailer for the game below:

The first trailer is loaded with he usual tropes: what is happening, and how is it going to affect the star. But this trailer is so much more.

Rampage stars Johnson as Davis Okoye, a sensitive primatologist who rescues an albino silverback gorilla named George because he just gets animals. He just gets them, ya know. Then, thanks to science, George becomes a 30-foot monstrosity smashing his way through Chicago, with other huge animals (including one big-ass crocodile) on his heels. Also, a giant wolf jumps into a helicopter.

There is no reason given for the evil corporation that is messing with radical genetic experiments in nature. But should a movie like this really have a reason? Check out the second trailer for a bit more footage, and a flying 30-ft.-wolf:

Rampage hits theaters on April 20.
