SDCC 2016: ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Trailer is All Magical Beasts

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Warner Bros. Pictures

J.K. Rowling’s upcoming film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, dropped another trailer this past week at the San Diego Comic-Con. The best thing about this trailer is that it is full of new footage, and it finally gives us an introduction to some of the wonderful beasts from the film.

Fantastic Beasts will be the first time we will return to the wonderful wizarding world established in the Harry Potter franchise. We go back in time to follow the adventures of someone Harry and crew only read about, Newt Scamander. The film follows Scamander as he travels to America in 1926, with a suitcase full of magical creatures, when some of them escape. Here is the films official synopsis:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Check out the new trailer below:

Fantastic Beasts will be the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling, author of the novel, and the beloved Harry Potter books. The Harry Potter film franchise is the highest grossing film franchise of all-time.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters on November 18.
