John Boyega Teases Possible ‘Star Wars’ Cameos for ‘The Last Jedi’

Star Wars The Force Awakens, Disney

One thing that was great about Star Wars: The Force Awakens was the secret cameos that J.J. Abrams laced throughout the film. One hidden gem was James Bond 007 himself, Daniel Craig, sitting in as a Stormtrooper. It was a refreshing surprise to see bigger actors doing anything they can to be a part of such a timeless franchise. With the gag order around the production of the Star Wars films, it must be hard keeping such big secrets. One person that is faltering under the pressure is John Boyega, who plays Finn in the The Force Awakens. Boyega gave up some juicy cameos for Star Wars: The Last Jedi recently to the BBC.

Boyega has hinted around both Prince Harry and Prince William will have cameos in the film along side of Tom Hardy (Mad Max Fury Road) in The Last Jedi. In a recent interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today show on Friday morning, he was asked to clarify his previous statements that both Princes play Stormtroopers in the film. He answers in a way that only someone who cannot keep secrets can:

“I think they took that scene out. I’ve had enough with those Prince William secrets, man. They came on set; they were there, man. Tom Hardy was there, too – I said it. I’m sick of hiding this… Every time I get asked I don’t know how to dodge it. Yeah, they were on set.”

We will have to wait until the film hits theaters to really know if the scenes were left in or not. Does this mean that director Rian Johnson cut Royalty out of the final cut of the film? According to Boyega, there is a chance that they are still included in the film, but the chance is slim at best.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
