John Favreau Will Executive Produce ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Infinity War, Marvel

Great news comes today, as John Favreau (The Jungle Book) has announced that he will be executive producing Marvel’s Phase 3 climax 2-part film, Avengers: Infinity War. This will bring the director back to the cinematic universe he helped create. For those of you that do not know, Favreau directed Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Favreau was replaced for Iron Man 3, with Shane Black, but Marvel holds a special place in Favreau’s heart.

According to Digital Spy, Favreau will be executive producing Marvel’s upcoming 2-part film, Avengers: Infinity War. He will be assisting Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: Civil War), who are set to direct. John Favreau tells the site:

“I’m going to be executive producing the Avengers films with the Russo brothers, which I’m very excited about. I talk to them about it all the time. I’ve worked both in front of and behind the camera with Marvel and I really love what they’re doing right now. It’s a really exciting time to be over there. I’ve seen a rough cut of Civil War and it’s fantastic. We’re constantly looking for things to do together. And now I’m freed up.”

This is great news, because Iron Man is still one of the top Marvel films to date. John Favreau will have his hand full as the Russo’s have joked saying that Infinity War will host 60 or more heroes. Thanos is no joke in the Marvel Universe, and I am certain that his big screen wrath will eclipse that of the comic books. Our favorite big screen heroes will have a challenge when they face-off against the Angry Titan.

Infinity War will partner up all of Marvel’s mightiest heroes: Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, (Adam Warlock possibly?), and many, many more when they square off against Thanos in 2018.
