Bleach, Warner Brothers Japan

A short teaser came out earlier this year, and now the full trailer for the live-action adaptation of Bleach is here, and it looks great. The film is adapted from Tite Kubo’s classic manga and successful anime franchise Bleach.

Bleach, Warner Brothers JapanThe anime’s story follows a teenage boy who can see ghosts, and is bestowed with the power to reap souls. The power is given to him by a female Soul Reaper during a fight with an evil spirit. His mission from then on is to escort souls to the land of the dead, while protecting those still living.

The film is coming to screens in Japan this July. Bleach is directed by Shinsuke Sato, and stars Sota Fukushi as Ichigo Kurosaki and Hana Sugisaki as Rukia. There is no current U.S. releases date set. Warner Brothers Japan is backing the film, so you can almost bet there will be a few U.S. screens that see the adaptation. Stay tuned for any further announcements.
