Movies about journalists are in an abundance and DC has no shortage of their own journalists. If DC wants to try their hand at their own Spotlight then there are several reporters they can use.

Although, it could serve the story well if the movie focuses on two of DC’s most famous journalists. Bringing in Lois Lane and Iris West to investigate corruption within an organization like Lex Corp or another fictional company is a good idea.

It begins in Metropolis with Lois receiving her assignment from Perry White and realizes it can win her the Pulitzer Prize if she lifts the lid on the corruption. Newcomer Iris West gets the same assignment from her Editor at Picture News in Central City.

While Lois craves the Pulitzer, Iris wants to prove her worth with her first real assignment. They keep getting in each other’s way to create problems for the other.

There comes a point in the story where Lois and Iris see their prize isn’t as important as revealing the truth. Working together, they form a formidable duo who infiltrate where they’re investigating. Realizing there’s a grander conspiracy at work, the women refuse to quit and end up in crosshairs of an assassin known as Cheshire.

Digging deeper into her, they find she works for a mysterious organization that is at the forefront of their conspiracy. Lois and Iris are the number one target of Leviathan and their leader, Talia Al Ghul.

The portrayals of these women need to be by actresses who are great. There’s a lot to balance between the action, dry humor and dramatic scenes. For the casting of Lois Lane, I’d recommend somebody like Olivia Wilde. Her acting credits are varied and offer a range needed for this portrayal of Lois Lane.

Another idea is Allison Williams. Get Out shows she’s good at switching her portrayal on a whim and her character in A Series of Unfortunate Events is an exaggerated Lois Lane-type.

Iris West will be younger than Lois so that needs to be reflected in the casting process. Two choices for Iris West are Paige Hurd and Kylie Bunbury. Both actresses have built up a collection of rules in the comedy, horror and dramatic genres.
