Logan is a few weeks away still, but we are finally getting the full picture of the dismal times the future holds for the X-Men and other mutants. A new promotional video for Logan has hit the internet and shows how X-23 was created.
It is safe to say that the young mutant will not have a very easy upbringing. In Logan, X-23 follows her comic book counterpart. X-23 or Laura (Dafne Keen) is the female clone of Wolverine. She underwent the same radical experimentation as Logan in the Weapon X program. What will the world do when there is 2 adamantium mutants running loose?
In the video, Laura’s life is rigid and tough. She is forced to go through multiple tests to make her bigger and better than even Wolverine himself. Will the rigorous procedures have any adverse effects on her mental state?

Logan takes place in the year 2029, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan’s vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn’t seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheath his claws once more. His job isn’t over yet.
Logan will be the last time that star Hugh Jackman will wear the adamantium claws and suit as Wolverine. Although Jackman has stated that he will leave the role after Logan, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has begun to lobby for a Wolverine/ Deadpool team-up movie. Will Reynold be able to convince the Aussie actor to return to the role?
Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
