New ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Trailer Shows That The Avengers Play A Big Part in the Movie

Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel Studios/ Sony Pictures

This morning, we didn’t just get one trailer for Marvel and Sony’s big team-up movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, we got two. The third official trailer for the film and the third international trailer both hit today. They each show some great new footage. This includes giving us more of Michael Keaton’s motivations in the film. The trailers also include a lot of Avenger references.

While the first two trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming dealt with how Peter Parker is still quite young, and how him having powers will change his world forever, this trailer is all about how much of an Avengers fanboy Parker really is. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) looks to have a significant role in the film. He will play a father figure to Parker, trying to get him to not make the same mistakes he made. Of course, a kid will never listen, Parker wants to do more as a hero.

Although these trailers almost give away a bit too much of the film for my taste, they do start to shape how the film will play out. Check out both trailers below:

Spider-Man: Homecoming is right around the corner. These trailers are great, and show us just how social media savvy Peter Parker really is. There are references to this all over these trailers, which give us a brief insight to how immature Parker really is.

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine, as he is distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.
