‘Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City’ Trailer Released

The trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is finally here. Considering the movie hits theatres next month, it’s a long time coming. Fans are eager to see if this one will be better than what’s come before. Of course, there’s no telling what the final product will be like from just a trailer.

The movie stars Robbie Amell, Hannah John-Kamen, Kaya Scodelario, and Tom Hopper. Respectively, they’re portraying Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Albert Wesker.

Take a look at the trailer below:

At first glance, it seems like the movie is using plot points from the original games but changing them. Claire Redfield is no longer going to Raccoon City to look for her brother, Chris. Now, she’s a conspiracy theorist who is actively looking into the Umbrella Corporation.

It’s too early to tell if the change is a good one. If anything, fans can be happy this time we’re getting a movie that focuses on Chris, Claire, Jill Valentine, and Leon S. Kennedy.

This time, there is no Alice to upstage them.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is a mixture of the first two games. To fans, this comes across as a strange idea. The first Resident Evil is set before the second. Meanwhile, the second and third games take place in the same city over a few days.

For all we know, some of this might actually happen in the movie. The spencer mansion stuff could be flashbacks, but from the trailer, it doesn’t seem like they are.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. As well as the movie, the next instalment in the game franchise released. Resident Evil: Village is the eighth entry in the main series. It includes Chris Redfield, but the main character is Ethan Winters.

The game also features everyone’s favorite giant vampire, Lady Dimitrescu. Rumors are also circulating Resident Evil 3 Remake is re-releasing with a Director’s Cut Nemesis.

Whether that happens is still a mystery.

Lastly, an online multiplayer battle royale is in development. Unfortunately, REverse is delayed until next year.
