Night Club #3 is the latest release from Millarworld. Mark Millar writes the series while Juanan Ramírez provides the art. It tells the story of Danny Garcia (a teenager) who becomes a vampire and uses his abilities to be a superhero and to try and become a viral sensation online.
However, something darker appears to be afoot.
In the previous issue, Danny turns his friends into vampires too. With their newfound powers, they don costumes and seek vengeance on their school bullies. Night Club #2 spent most of its time revolving around the crisis a non-vampire goes through before their transformation. So, how does the recent issue push the story?
Night Club #3 is about the superhero aspect of being a vampire. Danny and his friends give themselves codenames. They spend most of the issue stopping crimes for payment and making it look easy. However, not all the crimes they try to stop can be successful. Meanwhile, they’re also dealing with the fallout from what happened on the basketball court.
This comes to a head at a school party that they’re not usually invited to. Danny is finally closing in on the girl of his dreams. However, some people aren’t happy about it. Unfortunately, this isn’t the worst thing to happen to Danny and his team in this issue.
The issue concludes with introducing a team of vampires we haven’t seen before. It also seems like this is the set-up for the volume’s big bad. Don’t forget to expect the unexpected.
Moreover, Juanan Ramírez’s art continues to impress. As you can see from the panels above, his work is fan(g)tastic. Like always, there are certain panels I’d love to talk about because of how they look but they have spoilers so I can’t. However, you’ll know when you see them. Some of these panels will make you drop your jaw.
Night Club #3 is the turning point of the series and nothing will be the same again.
