Ever since Marvel’s phase four ended with Spider-Man: Far From Home, fans have waited for more news. Of course, we were treated to a great deal at D23 in 2019. There’s a slew of movies coming, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is branching out with series like She-Hulk.
While they are always saying the television shows are connected to the movies, they never truly did much with them. Shows like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D were a pariah to Marvel Studios, even if it did give some of the greatest storylines in the MCU.
Thankfully, that’s going to change as limited series are coming to Disney+. Wandavision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight and Ms Marvel are coming. However, there is little known about them other than what we learnt from D23.
Fortunately, that isn’t the same for She-Hulk. For those who don’t know her, She-Hulk is the cousin of Bruce Banner. More importantly, Jennifer Walters is a lawyer and superhero. Due to a bullet wound, her cousin gives her a blood transfusion. Of course, that transfusion leads to her becoming the female version of the Hulk.
However, unlike her cousin, she grows to have more control over her transformation. Jennifer even has more confidence in her hulk form, than her human one. If reports are true, we will see a similar origin in the series involving Mark Ruffalo.
Fortunately, thanks to Variety, we know who will be leading the She-Hulk series. Orphan Black fans will be pleased to hear Tatiana Maslany is going to be playing Jessica. While fan castings called for Community’s Alison Brie, I think we can all agree Marvel has made a great decision in casting Tatiana.
Her work in Orphan Black earns her constant praise. If there’s anyone who can pull off the dual natures of two people, it will be her. After all, Tatiana has been playing several versions of the one character on Orphan Black.
She-Hulk currently has no release date. With the way everything is going, it wouldn’t be surprising if it didn’t air until late 2021 at the earliest.
