Superman and Lois hasn’t aired yet but it’s already becoming one of the best shows in the Arrowverse. Or at least, that’s what the reviewers who’ve seen the premiere are saying. It stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the title characters.
Unlike other live-action iterations of Superman, the series revolves around Clark Kent and Lois Lane as parents. Even though Lois gave birth to a baby boy before Crisis on Infinite Earths, the 2019 crossover rebooted everything. Now, Clark and Lois are parents to twin boys.
Take a look at the trailer below:
Your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That is a new suit for Hoechlin’s Superman. However, that isn’t the only new thing about the series. It was recently confirmed that the father of Kal-El, Jor-El will appear in the series.
Joining the likes of Russell Crowe and Marlon Brando, Scottish actor Angus Macfadyen will play Jor-El. This is a Hollywood-caliber casting as Macfadyen is well-known for his portrayal of Robert the Bruce in the historically inaccurate Braveheart.
He also returned to the role in 2019 for a sequel focusing on Robert the Bruce.
Jor-El is appearing as an A.I. in the Fortress of Solitude. It’s likely he’ll be giving advice to Clark on being a father, while giving his grandkids the history of Krypton. Fans won’t have to wait long either as Jor-El’s first appearance is in the second episode.
Superman and Lois‘s first episode will be followed by a special look at the series. It premieres on The CW, February 23rd.
