While Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey is out in theatres everywhere, The Batman is currently in production. According to TheWrap, the movie takes place during the Dark Knight’s second year on the job.

Matt Reeves is in the director’s chair and last night he tweeted out test footage from the movie.

Usually, test footage isn’t that exciting but this one is. In the test footage, fans get their first chance to see what Bruce Wayne will be wearing at night.

The Batsuit has been revealed, or at least the top half of it has. Take a look at it below:

The suit looks to be more tactical than other live-action attempts and seems to take its cues from previous versions. It looks to be a cross between the original Bat-suit, the Arkham games version, and the Telltale.

It’s definitely a far cry from the Frank Miller inspired one worn by Ben Affleck in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The video only gives us a look at the cowl and the top of the chest. Interestingly, the bat symbol is metal and gives off the idea it can break off. In the source material, Batman melts down the gun used to kill his parents and uses it in his symbol to protect himself.

There are theories this is why the Bat symbol on this suit is metal. It’d certainly be interesting to have Bruce use the weapon that turned him into the Bat become his symbol.

The music accompanying the teaser is an original composition by Michael Giacchino and gives the audience a teaser of what’s to come from his score. It’s powerful and dark, much like the Bat himself, and it’s already creating buzz for the movie.

It’s unclear if the melody features in the movie or if it’s only for the teaser. Prior to the release of the footage, Robert Pattinson addressed the pressure he’s under as he takes on the role of the famous Hero.

He joins a list of great Batman actors: Adam West, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck to name a few.
