12 Years a Slave writer and American Crime showrunners John Ridley tried to build a television show set in the TRON universe. This universe’s been tapped three times in the past. The first was the original 1982 film. A sequel took decades with the release of 2010s Legacy and 2012s animated series Uprising.

Ridley set up the series during his deal with ABC Studios, but no details about the project ever surfaced. A third film was hinted at by Joseph Kosinski (Legacy), and was supposed to bring the constructs out of the computer to invade the users world.
