The Mandalorian Season 2
By now everyone has logged in to watch the adventures of Baby Yoda Din Djarin, AKA The Mandalorian (minus some countries who still have to wait until March before they can legally watch it).
The buzz for the Jon Favreau-led series was so strong that filming for a second season began before the first had even hit screens. Favreau announced this via his Instagram:
The season’s set to air some time in October this year. Pedro Pascal should return as the titular character, although Lucasfilm’s not made any casting announcements.
Expect Giancarlo Esposito to return as Darksaber-wielder Moff Gideon, and Gina Carano and Carl Weathers as Cara Dune and Greef Carga respectively. It’s also not a stretch to imagine Taika Waititi’s reappearance as IG-11, considering how well received his character was in the last season.
Favreau recently teased the inclusion of a species from the films; a Gamorrean, last seen guarding Jabba’s Palace in Return of the Jedi.
Since one of the planets we visited in Season 1 was Tatooine, it’s likely the show’s returning there. Will a certain slimy crime boss (Jabba) make an appearance? We’ll find out in October.
