X-Men fans have wondered whether the adamantium-clawed mutant, Wolverine, will appear in the upcoming movie X-Men: Apocalypse. The first trailer was absent of any glimpse of the mutant. There was a glimpse of Wolverine in the second trailer that released for the film. Now, according to director Bryan Singer, the film will not only have a cameo of Wolverine, but the mutant will be unleashed!
There has been a looming question since the first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, will Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine appear in the film? Singer has stated that the scene that Wolverine will appear in is a pivotal scene in the film.
In a recent interview with HeyUGuys, Singer was asked what fans should expect from the scene in X-Men: Apocalypse. Singer goes on to say that not only will we see Logan right after he receives his adamantium upgrade, but he will be unleashed! Can you say adamantium rage?:
“What’s really nice about his cameo is that he’s the Wolverine you’ve never seen before. He’s truly Weapon X. Not just the guy coming out of the tank, but the weapon.”
“We talked about a lot of different versions. There was a version where he got introduced in the middle of the movie and became this sort of drill sergeant for the kids, but that felt like it stepped on Raven’s role of becoming the leader to the kids. There were two or three different incarnations that we tried, but none of them felt quite right. As we were constructing the movie, we always imagined that they were abducted and taken [to Alkali Lake] and that Weapon X would be there and you’d see something that you’ve never really seen in these movies before which is the full on, out of control, animalistic, stripped down Wolverine.”
We have been treated to Wolverine’s transformation in the past, but this scene might be something completely new. This would serve to reinforce the reboot that X-Men: Days of Future Past did to the X-Men franchise.
This added scene is only giving fans a few more scene’s involving Hugh Jackman brandishing the claws, it is assumed that his last appearance in the role will be in Wolverine 3.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
