The showcase featured a number of games and even gameplay footage from a lot of it’s first party titles launching with the Series X. Microsoft confirmed that every title launching in the first two years after the Series X hits shelves will work on the Xbox One X.
When will the world finally get the Xbox Series X console? Although earlier indications pointed at a November 2020 release date, Microsoft’s staying quiet, for now. That didn’t mean that the Xbox showcase disappointed. Quite the contrary.
The majority of games are also coming to PC at the same time.
Most of the footage reveals lacked any glimpse of visuals or gameplay that’s designed exclusively to run on the Series X. The games look smoother, but still don’t look much better than most games are today.
Microsoft also announced that Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga’s being developed in Unreal Engine 5. That’s why the footage from last year looked fantastic, yet the title was nowhere to be seen.
MS also spoke more about their cherished Xbox Game Pass service, saying all of the games listed below will be available on Game Pass. This applies to those who don’t have the next generation console yet.
Although many of the titles will play at 4K/60fps, a few titles like Ori and the Will of the Wisps could get boosted to 120fps. The showcase featured a campaign trailer and inside look at Halo: Infinite, the Fable reboot, Avowed, a new Forza, and State of Decay.
