Director Sam Raimi

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hailed Sam Raimi’s return to comic book blockbusters. He’s joins an elite cast of noted directors who crafted work for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

MoM sees the MCU deliver another installment that allows the director to apply their own auteur touch to the Marvel blueprint. The result is one of the darker, edgier installments for Marvel, driven by the frightening artistry of Sam Raimi.

Raimi’s career spanned 40 years since his low-budget horror debut The Evil Dead in 1981. He’s seen notability within the horror genre, a popular trilogy of Spider-Man films, and a less than stellar crack at a Wizard of Oz prequel, Oz the Great and Powerful.

Between 1995 and 2000, Sam Raimi crafted three unique genre-driven films. They really showcased his range as not only a genre filmmaker but a storyteller as well.
