Although Avengers: Endgame got most of the attention this year, it’s hard to believe that Captain Marvel released earlier this year as well. Brie Larson’s first trek into the MCU made $1.1 billion at the global box office but came with a large amount of
Most of the other surviving Avengers see a sequel in Phase 4, but Captain Marvel 2 was absent from the announcement. So when will we see Carol Danvers return to the MCU?
Kevin Feige stated in the past that Danvers would be a major part of the MCU moving forward, so when will a sequel come? In a recent interview with Variety, Larson admits that she doesn’t know when the sequel will come
“No. I don’t really know what job I’m going to do next, which is very exciting. I don’t even know what my life’s gonna be!.”
She was also asked about the online backlash of her casting along with a big push from people to see the film fail. Brie didn’t even notice:
“They did? Oh. I didn’t even know. I don’t have time for it, you know? The things that I have extra time to really look at are, like: Am I eating healthy food? Am I drinking water? Am I meditating? Have I called my mom today?…
I have genuinely never needed to look at the internet to explain to me who I am. I’m extremely committed to that in my day-to-day life! There is really nothing more pleasurable to me than observing my mind. And interrogating myself.
It is a thing I’ve done since I was a child. And I will do for as long as I can.”
Larson also said that the Heroine team-up group from Avengers: Endgame got together and approached Kevin Feige about doing an all-female team movie. She said that it seemed hopeful:
“It is something… I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this.’
What that means, I have no idea.
You know, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen.”
Larson’s stars alongside Michael B. Jordan in Just Mercy releasing soon.
