DC Comic Storylines the DCEU Should Adapt

Justice League Dark

The Supernatural and Horror are popular franchises. DC can easily cash in on this by using its darker side of the Justice League. Not just that, they can bring in a director like Mike Flanagan to do it.

The Justice League Dark consists of Zatanna Zatara, John Constantine, Etrigan the Demon, Deadman, and others.

John Constantine is already popular due to the portrayals of Keanu Reeves and Matt Ryan. Zatanna is a fan-favorite who there’s a clamor for to see live-action.

Using a character like Deadman, who uses the living as hosts, provides comedy but also a MacGuffin.

There are several villains the characters can face but Felix Faust or Doctor Destiny provide interesting foils. Doctor Destiny manipulates reality using dreams. If the studio wants their own DC Horror then he could be the comic book version of Freddy Krueger.

John Constantine and Zatanna have their own issues so seeing them fight it through nightmares would make for great visuals. It’d also add depth to their characters without over-the-top exposition.

If the studio decided on a less horrifying take on the Justice League Dark then there’s another enemy that would work.

Circe is known in Greek Mythology, but she’s also a villain of Wonder Woman. In recent years, she’s faced off against the Justice League Dark. Since she’s in the same Mythology as Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot can appear.

Her appearance can be limited to a cameo but bringing in her star power brings in her fans. Also, it helps that Wonder Woman joined the team in the recent DC Rebirth run.
