The CW’s ‘Arrow’ to end after Season Eight

After an eighth season next year Arrow ends its run with ten episodes.

In a statement via The Hollywood Reporter Beth Schwartz (Showrunner), Greg Berlanti (Executive Producer) and Marc Guggenheim (Consulting Producer) confirms its end:

“This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of Arrow in mind. We’re heartened by the fact that Arrow has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come. We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and are grateful to all the writers, producers, actors, and — more importantly — the incredible crew that has sustained us and the show for over seven years.”

Arrow hit screens in 2012, kicking off the Arrowverse. It is the show that let The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow to happen (to name a few).

It will be interesting to see how Oliver Queen’s arc concludes, but theories suggest Crisis on Infinite Earths will see the death of the character.

Given there are only ten episodes of Arrow in Season Eight it does stand to reason Crisis will be the swansong of the emerald archer.

Hopefully, after Arrow ends it won’t be the last we see of Stephen Amell, whether it’s as Earth-1 Oliver or an Oliver from another Earth.

The next episode of Arrow airs Monday 11th March on The CW with S07E15 ‘Training Day’. Read the episode’s synopsis below:

Team Arrow attempts to work with the Star City Police Department but much of Oliver’s frustration, things don’t go as planned. Meanwhile, Dinah gets some life-changing news.
