Comic-Con 2017: New ‘Justice League’ Trailer is a 10 on the Epic Scale

Hall H was a buzz today right before the Warner Bros. DC Panel, and fans were not disappointed. WB released a new trailer for Justice League today, and it finally gives us a good look at the film’s villain, Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds). The trailer is full of brooding epic-ness. Where should I start? How a out just digging into the trailer first!

Check out the second trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

We get to see how the team interacts with thier own personal assistants and the other people around them. Barry Allen is really the ‘fish-out-of-water’ hero here, sorry Aquaman. He is really new to the superpower game, and he is still really young in the DCEU.

It is really nice to see how the interaction between all of these characters balance, and the film will shed more light on this. Bringing Joss Whedon in was a great decision by Zack Snyder, who has been under the microscope by DC Comics fans. A seasoned director with the ability to balance a big cast may be the missing piece from Snyder’s magical formula.

Steppenwolf looks amazing in this trailer, and no, he is not all grey as some previously suggested. He does fit the dark color palette well. His arrival in Themyscira is great, and he has an amazing villain landing. I love how Aquaman always acts like he is in the water, meaning the first trailer showed him ‘surfing’ on the Batmobile. In this trailer, we see him ‘Surf’ a parademon down through a building to the ground, and then he jumps off and flicks his hear. What a great quick scene.

The final battle looks like it is going to be a great ride! The trailer ends with a little teaser. Who is Alfred talking too, Green Lantern? Could we get a Lantern in this film too? Steppenwolf mentions him in the trailer. This could be the biggest hidden gem of this trailer, and the film.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17.
