Could Barry Allen’s Love Interest, Iris, Have a Cameo in ‘Justice League’?

Justice League, Warner Brothers Pictures

It appears as though DC and Warner Brothers are stacking up the characters and cameos for Justice League. How many characters will show up in Zack Snyder’s Justice League is anyone’s guess. If DC intends on building every character’s back story for the film, then we may see a few.

Two days ago, news came that director Rick Famuyiwa left the upcoming DC movie The Flash. The film is shooting for an early 2018 release, so a replacement needs to be found quickly. Rumors quickly began to swirl that actress Kiersey Clemons (Dope) could also leave the film after the director. Clemons is cast to play Iris West, the love interest of Barry Allen in The Flash.

According to Variety writer Justin Kroll, this is not the case. Kroll confirmed (via Twitter) that Clemons has filmed a cameo for Justice League, and is under contract for The Flash, so there is no chance she will leave the DC Universe. Here is his statement:

“Also lot of you asking about Clemons, she did shoot a cameo in ‘Justice League’ and has a deal to play Iris West, so she’s not going anywhere. If she somehow did fall out, WB could just cut that scene from ‘Justice League’ like when Sony cut Shailene Woodley’s scenes in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’.”

The Flash has not brought another director to the project as of yet. Snyder’s Justice League film is getting crowded with not only heroes, but love interests as well. In the recent trailers for JL, it appears as though Snyder is taking a different, lighter approach to the material in the wake of a dismal Batman v Superman reception. This will only help the franchise, that has yet to score over 75%, with Batman v Superman sitting at a frightening 27%.

Justice League is set to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
