DC’s movies struggle to get off the ground and find the stability Marvel has with its cinematic universe. However, the 2017 Box Office breaker Wonder Woman, directed by Petty Jenkins, shows that there is still a chance for the DC Movies and the greater DCEU.
Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad were all critical failures yet still made enough money at the Box Office to be considered successes. It’s a shame the same can’t be said for the first live-action version of Justice League, which ultimately failed to be successful in the eyes of critics and fans.
There is no need to despair though. The future of the DC Movie Universe can still be bright and there is nothing wrong with optimism.
